Kidderminster National - 12th & 13 May 2007 Just off the A451, between Stourport & Kidderminster, is a spot that was once a home for cricket and crown-green bowls. The cricket pitch is now a golf driving range and the bowling green is the heart of 10th R/C in the Midlands. If any of the old-dudes from the past (in their white shirts & slacks) are still alive they would hardly recognise the place today. |

The track is 80% high grip astro, interspersed with dirt, concrete & tarmac. Level changes, off camber corners and some major grip transitions make up the challenge. Even with a lack of large jumps it’s a difficult place to get round fast. Track options are almost infinite in number, but over the last few years the layouts have all been quite similar – but not for 2wd on Saturday. The club did a great job in producing a fresh layout, the track running anti-clockwise; opposite to how it's normally run. Everyone I spoke to thought it was spot-on. The day belonged to Neil Cragg, TQ and the win sewn up after leg 2 of the 'A'. |

On Sunday for 4wd the weather was very poor, the pics say it all. The meeting result was called after round 2 as the track was 100% water-logged. Lee Martin took the points in 4wd, the result taken from 2 rounds of wet qualifying. Not the best way to take the win, but still a great result for the new Aero car, 2 meetings - 2 wins. |
